Founder
Sociatea was founded by Jacinta Gibson, a marketer and certified Tea Master with a background in the drinks industry.
Her career has been shaped by categories where craft, provenance and ritual are deeply understood.
Wine, in particular, has long held a cultural place, defined not just by what is consumed, but how it is experienced.
Tea, despite its history and depth, has not always been given the same attention.
After years working within premium beverage, and studying tea formally,
Sociatea began to take shape.
Not as a reaction, but as a considered shift.
A return to a category that has always been present, but rarely positioned with the care it deserves.
The Tea Experience
Tea is one of the most widely consumed drinks in the world.
And yet, as a craft and experience, it has been quietly overlooked.
In many modern contexts, it has become simplified.
Convenient. Packaged.
Often reduced to something functional, rather than something to be experienced.
While other beverage experiences have evolved, with language around origin, craft and ritual tea has, in many cases, been left behind.
